Alzheimer’s Pakistan has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) titled “Volunteers In Service Program” with the University of Central Punjab (UCP), the largest university in the country. The purpose of this program is to inspire, encourage and support student and faculty in their pursuit of academic excellence through involvement in pedagogies that combine explicit academic learning objectives, preparation and reflection with meaningful service activities in the community. According to this MOU, the students from UCP shall be get attachments at Alzheimer’s Pakistan to get the opportunity for positive learning experience by serving the people with dementia and their families. In this regard, the MOU signing ceremony was held on Dec 28, 2018 at University of Central Punjab main campus in Johar Town. Dr. Hussain Jafri, Secretary General, Alzheimer’s Pakistan informed the participants of the ceremony about Alzheimer’s Disease and services provided by Alzheimer’s Pakistan in the country. The MOU was signed by Dr. Hussain Jafri, Secretary General Alzheimer’s Pakistan and Prof. Dr. Muhamad Zafarullah, Pro-Rector, University of Central Punjab respectively.
Note: It is mandatory for all the volunteers to raise a donation of Rs. 2000 by selling Alzheimer’s Pakistan’s information cards worth 100 rupees (each card) in addition to the above mentioned commitment. All volunteers will be awarded with an acknowledgment certificate.
