Alzheimer’s Australia’s Staff Visit

Mr. Frank Schaper, CEO of Alzheimer’s Australia WA visited Pakistan for one week during the World Alzheimer Month 2012. This visit was a part of the ongoing twinning program between Alzheimer’s Pakistan and Alzheimer’s Australia WA. Under this twinning program, Alzheimer’s Australia WA is helping Alzheimer’s Pakistan to develop its services.
During this visit Mr. Schaper participated in a number of activities in Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. His visit started with participation in the awareness seminars held at Kinnaird College Lahore, where he gave an inspiring lecture to students on the importance of volunteerism. Mr. Schaper also attended seminars at Psychiatry Departments of King Edward Medical University, Lahore (KEMU), Pakistan Institute Medical Sciences, Islamabad (PIMS) and Rawalpindi Medical College (RMC) and discussed ways to further strengthen collaboration between Alzheimer Pakistan, KEMU, PIMS and RMC.
Frank was also part of the launch ceremony for World Alzheimer Report that was held in Islamabad. Moreover, he took active part in various meetings that were held between Alzheimer Pakistan and Mayo Hospital, the Lady Health Workers Program and the Executive Committee of Alzheimer’s Pakistan.

    Note: It is mandatory for all the volunteers to raise a donation of Rs. 2000 by selling Alzheimer’s Pakistan’s information cards worth 100 rupees (each card) in addition to the above mentioned commitment. All volunteers will be awarded with an acknowledgment certificate.
